VIDEO: Yoga for Core Conditioning and Support

When it comes to physical conditioning, there’s more to the core than flat, toned abs. With strong, well-coordinated core muscles, exercise is more effective, back pain diminished, injury risk reduced, and daily life just becomes a little bit easier.

Exercises that strengthen core muscles—which include everything from the upper abdomen to the pelvic floor and the muscles that wrap around toward the low back—should be incorporated into any exercise plan. They can include tried-and-true repetitional exercises like crunches and planks, more specialized methods like pilates, or even a targeted yoga routine like Mahri’s below.

In this Zeel Virtual Wellness session, Mahri Relin guides you through a series of yoga poses to help strengthen and stabilize the core while emphasizing flexibility and mobility throughout. She also demonstrates optimal breathing techniques to help you get the most benefit from of each exercise.

As Mahri points out, core conditioning can do even more than improve posture and reduce pain. A strong core can give you a sense of confidence, strength and overall wellbeing, for a head-to-toe impact that starts in the center.

About Mahri: An in-demand Zeel Virtual Wellness instructor, Mahri Relin has used her extensive research and experience as a professional dancer, personal trainer, and expert in wellness and nutrition to provide clients with the most intelligent, personalized, and joyful fitness experience possible. Soothe them with this restorative yoga session designed specifically for back pain.
